Day 25: Living in Others: Intimate participants in the Grace of God

Day 25 meditation takes you to what it means to be a human being in the most exacts terms.

The revelation of God indicates that on the sixth day of creation, God  said, “.  . . Let us make man in our image . . . So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Gen. 1:26-27).  In Chapter One, the creation account gives the origination of man (the original is adam meaning, mankind) by stating “male (zakar) and female (negeba) created he them.” The implication is clear, and it is a powerful clue in understanding how to live as intimate participants of the grace of God.

Day 25 meditation admonishes that mankind is only complete when he exists in relationships.

Genesis, Chapter Five, is even more direct: “This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created” (Gen. 5:1-2). Whatever is meant by man, or mankind,  in the light of Genesis, it is only complete with both male and female.

The image of God operates in, by, and through relationships. Man, created in the image of God, was created to interrelate. The entire concept of life, from the scriptural point of view, is life in communion with God. That communion with God is always expressed in relationship with people. Man was created to interrelate and that interrelatedness is the very touchstone of what it means to be a human being.

Day 25 meditation proclaims the next person you meet may be the means of a powerful experience with God.

If you want to experience the good life, it will always occur as intimate participation of the grace of God in relationships. The people you will encounter today have been created by God for a help meet to assist you to live life in the fullest possible manifestation of life. The interaction between you and the people God brings into your life today is how the good life is experienced. Intimate participation in the grace of God is the fulfillment of the reason you were created. The next person you meet may be the means of a dynamic, powerful experience with God. Day 25 meditation can help you understand why it is so.
