Day 21: Divine Healing: Living in The Grace of God

Day 21 meditation emphasizes the full spectrum of divine healing.

Most of the problems that man faces in life (some say as high as seventy-five per cent) are the result of simply a failure to know how to live, a lack of basic living skills. Therefore, by creating an atmosphere whereby the Holy Spirit can reveal Him who is life, Jesus Christ, every individual can come to terms with the reality of living. James seems to imply this when he writes, “From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members” (James 4:1)?

Day 21 meditation reveals that most people desperately seek answers in life but ask the wrong questions.

The implication is that wars occur between people because wars are going on within people. James adds, “Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not” (4:2). Most struggling people would say that the preceding statement of James is a fitting description of their turmoil. They want to experience real living so desperately, yet it seems never to materialize. They just do not know how to live in the grace of God.

James adds further insights to the problem: “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (4:3). The people in reference, just as every individual who seems to be fighting a losing battle, usually do not ask for help (4:2) until they are in the midst of terrible woes. By the time they seek help their asking seems always to be amiss. They desperately seek answers, but they ask the wrong questions.

James labels them, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses” (James 4:4). He is not referring to sexual sins, but to the adulterating of the ultimate answer, “know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God” (James 4:4)? They have diluted the gospel, perverted the gospel (Gal. 1:6-8) with the ways of man. Struggling on the inside because of perverted truth, they find themselves at war with others. This scenario is the cause of most problems that people will face in life.
