A
young child overhears his mother and father fighting in another room . . .
parents learning their teenage daughter is pregnant . . . a sleepless,
worried mother, finally, hears her son coming home but he is intoxicated
again . . . a confused, lonely husband is struggling to understand how his
marriage ended . . . fear, hurt, and pain grip the lives of far too many
people who find themselves confronting this "thing" called life.
People desperately wanting to live, needing to live, yet seemingly, always
thwarted from living by life itself.
The days of their lives for
most seems like the proverbial yo-yo, riding the rails of a
fast-moving roller coaster. Mood swings run the gamut from
exhilarating highs to depressing lows.
Failing to grasp the
fundamental truth of the grace of God, God's provision for life is
constantly being frustrated. The pursuit of life by most people actually hinders the manifestation of
the Jesus life within them.
Moreover, every man has been
"graced" to experience the ultimate expression of life.
When the first breath of air is taken into the lungs of the new born, the
miracle of life, as an individual, begins.
It is more than just the physical breathing
of air by the body, which is miracle enough for the wonder of man.
However, something far more grand has occurred. A robe of flesh has
been incarnated with the Spirit of God. Man has been graced to
experience the life of God.
Experiencing that life is not
only man's greatest moment, it is also his greatest challenge. The
free flow of the grace of God is the issue of life. Since grace is
the provision that God gives to His creation to enable them to experience
life . . . grace in its ultimate definition has to be Jesus. For man,
then, the quest for life is the journey to Jesus. Jesus is the
provision by which all men live, the provision by which the quest for life
is fulfilled.
