| The Deuteronomy Bible studies center upon the words of
life. Since the early days of his creation, man has unfortunately
misunderstood the mystery and the secret of life. He has erroneously
interpreted life from his own perspective. Consequently, he has put
himself at the center of his world. Even when his thoughts turn to God,
he often sees God only as the object of his contemplation.
When man becomes the center of His world, however, he will always
misinterpret what God intended for him. In other words, caught in the
downward swirl of a whirlpool of self-actualization, man continually
encounters life on a level far less than God desired for him to
experience. He seems to be trapped in a curse that never allows him to
arrive where he senses he should be.
Man’s life-style is not only less than the highest possibility but
he is even blind to the higher ground. This is not to say that the
thoughts of a better life does not enter his mind. Most men will from
time to time ponder that there must be more to life than what he is
currently experiencing. He is ignorant, however, of what and of where
the higher realm dwells.
The story of Deuteronomy is the story of a people who failed to live
on the higher realm. Continually encountering God on this lower level,
it soon became "normal" to them. Living less than God desired
caused them to misinterpreted continually their mission and purpose of
life. They were God conscious but their thinking came from a faulty
perspective. They failed to live the prosperous life in a land that
flowed with the good things of life
The Deuteronomy Bible studies reveal what God originally intended for
man but so few men experience.
