Conquered by Jesus is the story of every man.  It is the continuing saga of what God does for man.  It is the greatest story ever told.

Man's intellect, once his glory but how his shame (Phil. 3:19), has such control over him that every man literally has to be conquered by Jesus to be redeemed and to experience the life God intended for man to live.

This truth can be illustrated by the life of an early follower of Jesus.  When Jesus told His disciples that He must go to a place that they could not go at that time, Peter's response was "why cannot I follow thee now?  I will lay down my life for thy sake" (John 13:37).

Although Peter would eventually be able to go where Jesus went, Jesus knew that Peter could not go to that place within his own capabilities.  It would be only after Jesus had gone, come back, and then taken Peter there Himself.

For where Jesus was going was into the heart of God, into the place where only God dwells.  Peter would get there but he would get there only by experiencing Jesus Christ.  In reality, it was the pursuit of life by Peter (and all men) that prohibited the experiencing of the Life of God already within him.

Conquered by Jesus is the story of the gospel of grace.  The Father has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into your world to baptize you with His Spirit to take you where you could not go yourself.

It is the story of "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain . . ." (John 15:16).

With "ordained" meaning "to place (. . . in a passive and horizontal posture . . . [as opposed to] an upright and active posture . . .), you can be taken back to where all men resided before the fall.

You can be returned to innocence, living in the simplicity of a child.  Not attempting to live by the scheming of your mind, you can now live in the outflow of the grace of God.

When man consumed the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 3:1-7), his eyes were open to a "separate" identity from God.

Consequently, a spirit of man was born.  Like darkness (which is merely the absence of light); however, the spirit of man is not an entity in and of itself.  It is a way of thinking or perception of the fallen mind of man "removed" from experiencing the Spirit of God.

Subsequently, when the spirit of man was awakened within man, he began to perceive that the experiencing of life was actually the experiences of his mind.

He would now attempts to live by the thrill of his senses (tasting, touching, seeing, hearing, and smelling).  Although God is still the life-source of his existence for there is no life but God (John 5:26,27), man, in his mind, now perceives himself as the essence of his life. He now thinks that he can make his life happen by the activities of his mind.

Since the spirit of man lives only in the perception of the mind of man, the fallen mind is not going to make a decision to end its existence. It will gladly give up anything and everything except its control.

In other words, with the fallen mind being the problem, the solution then is not going to come by a decision of the mind.  Peter made a decision, "
I will lay down my life for thy sake," but Jesus knew that in the end the thinking of the fallen mind of Peter would not, could not fulfill its intention.

Jesus would have to be within Peter to take him to that place where Peter would eventually fade out of sight (literal meaning of the word translated "go" in John 15:16) until only Christ would be seen.

In Jesus is the only way the exercise of the mind, which produced the original devil (Eze. 28: 12-19), can be conquered.

God will literally save man and produce life in man in spite of man. Man will have to be conquered by Jesus to experience his salvation.  He will have to be conquered continually by Jesus to experience the life of Jesus.

"Conquered by Jesus" is the story of how God
conquers man to produce His life within man.
